I give friendship and therefore I have friends. I help, therefore I am helped. I uplift, therefore, I am uplifted. I am now surrounded by all love, all friendship, all companionship, all health, all happiness, all success. –Ernest Holmes

I make my art in an exciting way to uplift all who view it!

There is nothing in the universe that denies us the right to be happy, if our happiness does not deny or interfere with the general good. The universe remains unlimited, though the whole world has suffered a sense of limitation. –Ernest Holmes

The power and energy of the Universe is unlimited and this beautiful, loving force is within one right now.

We cannot fight the Universe. It refuses to be budged from Its course. We can only go with it.

--Ernest Holmes

I trust that the Universe wants me to be happy and to have my needs met. I know that all is well when I believe this.

Man is a spirit while god is the Spirit. Man is individual, while God is the Universal; but since the individual comes from and is in the Universal, it follows that man is a little world within himself.

--Ernest Holmes

Art and music are a universal way of expressing our souls; a way of communicating love and beauty that we can all understand.

We experience good and evil because we perceive a presence of duality rather than unity.

--Ernest Holmes

All problems and conflicts melt away and no longer exist and never did exist in the realization of the Unity of all Life. There is only ONE.

The secret of spiritual power lies in a consciousness of one’s union with the Whole, and of the availability of good. –Ernest Holmes

When I have compassion for others, especially when I do not agree with what they are saying, I realize my union with them and theirs with me.

Saturday, January 23, 2010

The cosmic engine is started but man guides it in his own life. It goes for him in the direction in which it is driven. This driving is not by force but by agreement, unification and acquiescence.

--Ernest Holmes

There is only one life. There is no separation. Everything is unified into one whole. In the unification is healing, connecting, Love.

There is a law of unfoldment in man, which says he can advance only by going from where he is to the place where he would like to be. –Ernest Holmes

My Life is unfolding perfectly, like a flower opening to greater beauty. The same is true of all others. I take pleasure in knowing this truth and I release any thoughts to the contrary. There is no worry, no blame. There is only the perfect unfoldment of all of Life itself.

By spiritual understanding is not meant anything strange or unnatural, but merely that the belief in goodness must be greater than any apparent manifestation of its opposite –Ernest Holmes

When I understand, then I can stop wondering and worrying. When I understand, then I have listened well, I have “gotten” it, and I can continue to the next subject. When I understand a person or what they are saying, then I have the capacity to love them. Everything in my life progresses and improves more and more as my understanding of life increases.

The Divine Ideas are perfect, but man’s freedom of individuality causes them to appear imperfect. Through right thinking, he is able to uncover the appearance of imperfection and reveal the Perfect Idea.—Ernest Holmes

The true me is deep in my heart, but it is sometimes hidden under layers of old beliefs and habits. My spiritual work is to uncover and let go of all of the worn out stuff of the past and to reveal the real me in my heart of hearts.

The Universal Mind contains all knowledge. It is the potential ultimate of all things. To It, all things are possible. To us, as much is possible as we can conceive according to law. Should all the wisdom of the Universe be poured over us, we should yet receive only that which we are ready to understand. –Ernest Holmes

My ultimate purpose in life is, of course being an artist and making beautiful things to inspire others. More than that, my ultimate purpose is simply to BE.

In order to mentally receive a message, and bring it to the surface, one must be in tune with the vibration of that message. –Ernest Holmes

As I tune into the NOW, I find a quiet, peaceful refuge deep within me. This gives me a sense of self worth; a sense of value and a confidence that helps me in whatever I am saying or doing.

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Through experience, man learns what is really good and satisfying, what is truly worthwhile. As his intelligence increases, and his capacity to understand the subtle laws of Nature grows, he will gradually be set free. As he learns the Truth, the Truth will automatically free him.

—Ernest Holmes

The Truth is that NOW is all there is. NOW is the Truth. Nature—all of the beautiful leaves on the trees, the birds, the flowers; all of the animals, the sky, sea, clouds, fish; all these different forms are Goddess and yet, there is the eternal light, the emptiness; this is the Truth. The Truth just is. Whenever I feel that there is a problem, I ask myself, “Is this really true?” And I find that it is not. If I look more deeply, I can see the Truth. I can bless the situation and release it.

Friday, January 15, 2010

When we learn to trust the Universe, we shall be happy, prosperous and well. We must learn to come under that divine government, and accept the fact that Nature’s table is ever filled.

—Ernest Holmes

I live in the present moment knowing that all is well. I let go of the past; I let go of the future and I trust spirit right now. All the power of the Universe is NOW.

Thursday, January 14, 2010

There can be no reason as to why the Truth is true. How can spirit of Itself create a new form? I do not know. As Newton said, the fact that we are able to announce the mystery is the mystery. –Ernest Holmes

Love is true. Fear is not true. Love has power. Fear is powerless. I choose what is true. I choose love and power.

The body is healed as the inner mind is transformed; as the old and false images of thought are renewed by images of Truth and Life. –Ernest Holmes

By practicing love, gratitude, forgiveness and generosity, I am creating a transformed me. I know and accept this because it gives me the power to change my own life.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

We know the background of human thought is, to a great extent, one of negation, a denial of an harmonious and spiritual Universe; consequently, our outlook on life must be transformed by the renewing of the mind, and even when the results are not immediately forthcoming, we must still maintain a calm serenity of thought. Ernest Homes

Life is Transformation. I am in a state of transformation at all times. My life is constantly evolving and changing. I am growing. There is no final outcome. Life is Eternal. Life is Goddess.

There is , then, no limitation outside our own ignorance, and since we can all conceive of a greater good than we have so far experienced, we all have the ability to transcend previous experiences and rise triumphant above them; but we shall never triumph over them while we persist in going through the old mental reactions.—Ernest Holmes

No matter what appearance of a problem I seem to have, I can overcome it. I can go within to the quiet place in my heart, in my soul to the Peace of God. Any and all solutions and answers are found here. This day, today, I accept my transcendence of any situation to a peaceful productive solution for all concerned. Spirit Wins!

A tolerating or being tolerant, esp. of views, beliefs, practices, etc. of others that differ from one’s own

I practice tolerance in my everyday life. I may not always agree with the opinions, habits or customs of others because everyone is different. I am learning that I am unique in the world, also in my way of doing things. I accept myself and my way and I accept and tolerate others in their way, with the intention of peace for all.

The formless takes form in what we call “time.” “”Time is a sequence of events in a unitary wholeness:” it is recollection, attention, and anticipation—past, present, and future—simply the measure of experience. –Ernest Holmes

There is enough time for everything. Sometimes I think I need to rush and cram a lot of stuff into a small amount of time. This is a total waste. I have a larger amount of time when I slow down and focus on my priorities. Then my time is much more satisfying.

Man does think, so behind the brain there must be a thinker. But where is the thinker?

--Ernest Holmes

My dictionary says that a thinker is a person who devotes his/her time to thought or meditation. I think a thinker is someone who thinks in the right direction.

If we wish to come to the Spirit for the healing of our wounds, let us come in peace and with spontaneous joy, for the Spirit is joy; let us come with thanksgiving also, for a thankful heart is in harmony with life. –Ernest Holmes

For me, the practice of thanksgiving is central to my life. Because, when I have an attitude of gratitude, I can know that all is well. I can see the good in each and every moment. I can always find something to be grateful for.

Joint action by a group of people, in which individual interests are subordinated to group unity and efficiency; coordinated effort, as of an athletic team.

When I cooperate and work with my friends and family I can get a lot more done! Teamwork is great because I am doing whatever needs to be done for the good of all.

A mystic is one who intuitively perceives Truth and, without mental process, arrives at Spiritual Realization. It is from the teachings of the great mystics that the philosophy of the world has come. Who was there who could have taught such men as these? By what process of mentality did they arrive at their profound conclusions? We are compelled to recognize that spirit alone was their Teacher. –Ernest Holmes

I have had many teachers in my life. When I really think about it, virtually every experience is my teacher. With each new experience, I am reminded to come back to center and to focus on the NOW.

The term synthesis (from the ancient Greek σύνθεσις σύν [with] and θεσις [placing]) is used in many fields, usually to mean a process which combines together two or more pre-existing elements resulting in the formation of something new.

My art quilts are a combination of ingredients and materials; fabric, acrylic paint, buttons, beads—those are the physical materials. Each one starts with an idea and then a drawing. In between all of this is a process of creating. The final product is a synthesis of it all.

The spiritual world contains an image of the physical; the physical is a counterpart of the spiritual. A true estimate of the outward symbol points to the spiritual reality behind it. –Ernest Holmes

What I desire may appear to be a bigger house or a new car, but, really it is a symbol of something deeper, a feeling of peace and abundance.

You cannot heal anyone of his trouble, if it is the result of some mental attitude which he will not surrender.—Ernest Holmes

At this moment I let go of all of the facts and figures of my head. I let go of all the worries of living. I let go of all of the appearances of this earth. I let go of having to know what’s going to happen next. I let go of holding on. I let go of anger and fear. I surrender to Life itself because I am Life itself! I surrender to myself!
