The all-powerful Mind of the Indwelling Christ in me dissolves and dissipates from my mind all belief in indecision, anxiety, depression and discouragement, for I dwell in the realm of peace.

--Ernest Holmes

In order to move on, I consider each item and I say, “yes” or I say, “no”. I let go of the items that are not essential and I focus on what is important. I am decisive and my business is efficient.

If we have the mental equivalent of a commodious home, roomy, light, cheery, and an income in keeping with it; if we are able to build in mind the kind of home we wish, and there is nothing in our subjective thought which denies this, then we shall be able to decide and demonstrate for ourself the kind of home we desire.

I decide to love myself and I decide to trust the Universe is taking care of my needs. I decide to let go of anything that no longer serves me and I decide to allow myself to receive love.

The Christ triumphs over death and the grave breaking through the tomb of human limitation into the dawn of eternal expansion. –Ernest Holmes

Dawn is the beginning of the day. The sun is coming up and warming our part of the planet. When a new idea dawns on me, that idea is a beginning. Each moment of my life is a new beginning, a new dawn. In each moment, each dawn, I can release the old and begin again, fresh.

Behind the individual is the Universal, which has no limits. In this concept alone lies the possibility of eternal and endless expansion. Everyone is Universal on the subjective side of life, and individual only at the point of conscious perception. The riddle is solved, and we all use the creative power of the Universal Mind every time we use our own mind.

Something within me has ideas. Something within me finds solutions. Something within me answers a need. Something within me knows what to do next. I can also use my creativity destructively. Today, I choose to use the powerful tool of creativity in a positive, constructive way. Making artwork is a beautiful way to use it.

Within us, then, there is a creative field, which we call the subjective mind; around us there is a creative field which we call Subjective. One is universal and the other is individual. But in reality, they are one. There is one mental Law in the Universe, and where we use it, it becomes our law because we have individualized it.—Ernest Holmes

I am creative by nature. The trick to being creative is to put the creativity to good use.

God’s Creative Power of Mind is right here. We have as much of this power as we believe in and embody. –Ernest Holmes

I have the courage to express and share my creativity. I listen to my inner voice and I proceed to move forward, one moment at a time doing whatever Spirit moves me to do or say. I write down all of my ideas. I prioritize them and I express them one at a time in the precious present moment. I tap into my Spiritual Creativity and I spontaneously express the work that is mine to do. I am Creageous!

The attitude of facing and dealing with anything recognized as dangerous, difficult, or painful, instead of withdrawing from it, quality of being fearless or brave; valor

Rather that resisting the difficult aspects of my life and rather than avoiding doing those things that I am afraid of, I can choose to have the courage to move forward and go for what I want. I do not let fear win! I accept the courage I already have within me and I go for the gold!

Every day and every hour we are meeting the eternal realities of life and in such degree as we cooperate with these eternal realities in love, in peace, in wisdom and in joy—believing and receiving—we are automatically blessed. Our prayer is answered before it is uttered.

—Ernest Holmes

I am self reliant and yet I am not alone. I am willing to work with others on a team. No big project or event can happen with just one person. My art quilts are created by me with the help of all of the teachers I have ever had; with the help of fabric manufacturers, as well as paint, beads, buttons, batting thread, sewing machines, studio, quilts, too, etc.—all created by teams of people. I cooperate by being a part of it all. When I market my work, I agree by cooperating with the way the market works and I price my art according to what the market will bear. I connect with people who can help me sell the work and with those who will buy it. I cooperate.

Contribute: To give or supply in common with others; give to a common fund for a common purpose—American Heritage Dictionary

How do I make a contribution? I look around me to see what needs doing. I listen to my heart; I love my family and friends; I set my priorities; I check items off of my list; I help others when appropriate and I live in peace.

If one is not attracting good into his life, there is something wrong with his unconscious thinking.

…This inner thought content is the sole medium between the Absolute and the relative, between causes and conditions.—Ernest Holmes

What is important is content. It’s not so much the container, but what is in the container, the content that matters. I have all kinds of creative ideas for artwork; I could be very busy for a really long time! My ideas for art to do keep changing all the time, but what is really important? It’s what’s inside that counts. It’s the content; and this remains the same; it’s all for Love!

Plotinus, perhaps the greatest of the Neo-Platonic philosophers, in personifying Nature said: “I do not argue, I contemplate; and as I contemplate, I let fall the forms of my thought.” This is the manner in which Nature creates—It contemplates. As a result of Its contemplation, It lets fall the seed of Its thought into the Universal Subjective which, being Law, produces the object thought about.--Ernest Holmes

I observe in my mind a beautiful pink rose. I look at it from every angle and I see all of the different shapes it takes as I turn it. I look at its petals and I notice lots of different shades of pink in the light and shadows. Its fragrance touches my heart, as I contemplate God’s Grace in a small aspect of Nature.

The First Principle is goodness, and only in so far as our thought and action tend toward a constructive program, will it eventually succeed. –Ernest Holmes

I am constructive in my thinking and in my creativity. I may go back and destroy some old ideas that no longer work for me, but I do this with only good in mind, because I am having new, better and more constructive ideas forming to take their place.

“Who would save his life must lose it” This is another of those mystical sayings of Jesus which must be carefully considered before accepting it. Does God demand that we give up everything if we are to enter the Kingdom of Heaven? Of course not! To suppose that God wills us to be limited is to contradict the Divine Nature. God’s only will is to BE, and for all to BE, for god can conceive of man only as part of Himself. –Ernest Holmes

I consider the feelings and needs of others. I treat people with consideration and kindness as I allow them to express their individuality. I treat myself with the same consideration. We are all one.

What is the mind? No man living knows. We know a great deal about the mind, but not what it is. By mind, we mean consciousness. We are now using it. We cannot locate mind in the body, for, while the body is a necessary vehicle for consciousness while we are here, it is not consciousness. –Ernest Holmes

When I am conscious I can take charge of a situation and do whatever I can to show love and compassion and to be a positive force for change for the good of all concerned. When I have consciousness, I can take a deep breath and give myself a lift. When I have consciousness I can influence and uplift others.

We should think clearly and allow the image of our thoughts to sink into a subjective state. We do not crowd them down; we let them sink into this inner receptivity with power and with conviction. Our individual subjective mind is our place in the Universal Creative Law and immediately connects us with limitless power and energy.—Ernest Holmes

How can I connect? How can I become closer to God? I can become closer to God by simply relaxing and letting go and accepting that I am God. I am already connected by simply accepting that I am connected. There is nothing to do but to accept my connectedness and to practice gratitude.

…always the man who has faith in his own ability accomplishes far more than the one who has no confidence in himself. Those who have great faith, have great power. –Ernest Holmes

I believe in myself, and in what I am doing. I have faith in my creative process and I move forward in confidence. When I have confidence, then I enjoy life!

To concentrate means to bring to a center and in Mental Science it means focusing the mental attention on some definite and desired thought, image, idea or thing. Of course we are dealing with the idea as though thoughts were things. The Spirit of the thing is in the thought. This is its essence, law and cause. –Ernest Holmes

Concentrated fruit juice is undiluted. It’s dense! When I concentrate my energy on something I have a greater chance of accomplishing it, than if I dilute my efforts and scatter my energy by doing too many things at once. Concentrated energy is dense and powerful.

We comprehend the meaning of Infinite Intelligence only in a small degree, but because we are spiritual beings, we do sense the presence of an Intelligence which is beyond human comprehension—an intelligence which is great enough to encompass the past to understand the present and to be Father of the future. –Ernest Holmes

In the past I have lived in my own little world. I was blind to the worlds of other people. I only thought about myself. My awareness was full of blind spots. Now I can comprehend that there is so much I do not know.

Spiritual Substance is all around us, waiting to be formed. Thus we see what Jesus meant when he said: “And I say unto you, Ask and it shall be given unto you. “The Law must work in compliance with our demand. –Ernest Holmes

I go with the flow. I accept the process I am involved with. I let go of resistance and I follow my guidance. I allow Spirit to show me the way. I am in compliance with Life Itself.

A sense of real completion can come only to that soul that realizes its Unity with the Great Whole.

--Ernest Holmes

The obvious meaning would be about finishing a job or a project. But being or feeling complete in a relationship is not always so apparent. I feel complete with a person, when I have said everything I want to say; I have told the Truth, and I have practiced forgiveness. Then I feel complete within myself.

The Truth is Indivisible and Whole. God is complete and Perfect. –Ernest Holmes

I like it when I finish an art quilt or a drawing. In so doing, I have been through the complete process; I have done all I need to do to make it a beautiful work of art. I have enjoyed the fun creative parts and I have made those difficult creative decisions that give it richness. I am complete with it.

The conscious mind is Spirit, the subjective mind is Law. One is a complement of the other and no real individuality could be expressed without a combination of both. –Ernest Holmes

Knowing that I am doing what is right for me, and that I do not need to be like anyone else, I can just be myself. I do enough; I have enough and I am enough! I don’t need to look outside myself for my good. I can see that each person has his or her own characteristics and that we all complement each other!

“I am surrounded by right action. I am filled with the consciousness of right action. Right action is success in all that I undertake to do. I am successful in all my undertakings, and I am compensated for all my efforts. I am surrounded by Substance, which is always taking the form of supply and always manifesting Itself to me in the form of whatever my need may be at the time.” --Ernest Holmes

I am always compensated in one way or another for everything I think, say or do. For every action there is a reaction. By acting with intention, I can have more control over what my compensation will be.

A practitioner must be filled with the spirit of Divine Compassion. He must have a deep, underlying sense of unity…Ernest Holmes

When I care about other people, animals, plants, the earth, then I am caring about myself and I can relax into just being enough right here and right now. With compassion, I release all judgment of myself or others, I release anything negative and I know that I am unified with all of life and I am one with all. I am not separate, I realize that I am part of a greater whole and each of us is in compassion and Love for brothers and sisters in Love of the Universe.

Sunday, June 6, 2010

A constant realization of the presence of Spirit will provide a sense of Divine Companionship that no other attitude could produce. –Ernest Holmes

I love having someone to do things with! Companionship is a gift I am very grateful for!

There is vitality in our communion with the Infinite which is productive of the highest good. As fire warms the body, as food strengthens us, as sunshine raises our spirits, so there is a subtle transfusion of some invisible force in such communion, weaving itself into the very warp and woof of our own mentalities. This conscious commingling of our thought with spirit is essential to the well-being of every part of us. –Ernest Holmes

When I eat good food and get energy from it, the food becomes part of me. I am in communion with the food.
